3 & 4 Year Old Kindergarten Programs

Kew Kids offers excellence in extended hours 3 and 4 Year old Kindergarten Programs. Our highly qualified and experienced early childhood teachers meet all of the kindergarten program funding criteria and provide the best practice in early childhood service delivery.

Pre-Kindergarten, Toddlers & Babies Programs

Kew Kids Early Learning Centre offers developmentally appropriate programs in five separate rooms for babies, toddlers, Pre-Kindergarten, and kindergarten and pre-school aged children.

Program Outline

Our programs are inspired by the Emergent Curriculum, Victorian Early Years Learning Development Framework and Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority, Reggio Emilia and the Australian National Curriculum – Early Years Framework. We value the use of natural materials and elements in the children’s play. Our quality play based early childhood programs are largely open ended to reflect the centre’s philosophy, goals and objectives. Parent suggestions and contributions to the programs are invaluable and an integral part of your child’s learning process.

Programs and routines are flexible and relaxed to meet the individual needs and interests of the children. Programs promote equality and a multicultural perspective and encourage the participation of all children regardless of ability, gender. race or religion. An emphasis on caring for our natural environment and sustainability is encouraged throughout the programs and environment.

Observations and Evaluations

Daily reflection diaries and individual children’s portfolios are developed and used for observation, planning, evaluation and reflection. Children are observed and planned for individually through observational learning stories and parents are encouraged to participate in the planning and evaluation process. The children’s experiences, interests and progress is documented in portfolios and used as a basis for further enquiry and learning.

Role of the Educator

The role of the early childhood professional is to positively facilitate, guide, document and communicate the children’s experiences. Programs are developmentally appropriate and foster the individual needs and interests of the children.

Role of Parents and Caregivers

Parents and care givers play a vital role in the health and development of their children. We aim to develop open and trusting communication with parents and encourage active involvement and participation in the programs and your child’s development. We encourage partnerships with parents to meet the individual needs and interests of each child.
